Meet CJ: His Audi R8 is a Constant Reminder That Anything is Possible With Hard Work and Determination
Exotic ownership gives us all a different feeling, but for CJ it gives him a constant physical reminder of his hard work and determination to make success happen.
CJ has the passion and love for cars that made it all the more exciting when he finally got behind the wheel of one of the cars we use as a staple here at Exotic Car Hacks.
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
CJ: I’m 27 raised just outside of Phoenix, AZ. I’ve been in the automotive industry for the majority of my working life. Vehicles consume my outside life as well whether it be car shows or drag racing events.
What is your profession?
CJ: I’m an assistant manager for Addictive Desert Designs: a truck, jeep, and SUV accessory manufacturing facility.
What was your first car and why?
CJ: 1996 Chevrolet S10. A gift from my parents for my 16th birthday. Today I have a 403ci stroker 82mm turbo Corvette I built and still currently own.
First exotic car using ECH methods and why that car?
CJ: 2009 Audi R8 V8 with the gated 6 speed manual. I chose it because it fit the budget I had for a mid engine exotic. I chose the gated 6 speed manual for resale purposes. Purchased for $63,300. Financing terms were 84 months 0 down 4.99% from my local credit union.
How has Exotic Car Hacks helped you when it comes to car research and buying?
CJ: It gave me the tips I needed to gain the confidence to make a step into the exotic market. I had known about exotics and high end luxuries like most car enthusiasts would, but never fully understood how to watch and analyze depreciation curves and what to look for from private sellers and dealerships to find or be able to negotiate the right deal.
Best advice for someone looking to buy their first exotic?
CJ: Study the particular cars platform that you intend to buy. Know the car you are buying as if you owned one for years. Be smart, confident, and most importantly patient.
How is your life different now with exotic car ownership?
CJ: It means a lot to me to own an exotic car. It’s a constant reminder on how hard I’ve worked to get where I am, and that I can do anything I set my mind to with enough hard work and determination.
Whats next for you?
CJ: Lamborghini Gallardo/LP. Or maybe something with doors that go up like McLaren MP4-12c, 650s, or Mercedes SLS.
We here at Exotic Car Hacks would like to thank CJ for sharing his story.
