Bogus Dealer Fees You Should Never Pay

Some dealerships will attempt to do add-ons to your car costs without you even knowing it. Most dealers have dealer fees ranging from $199 – 1299, and those are often non-negotiable.

What they also often have are hidden fees that consist of aftermarket products like tire and wheel protection, third party car security, GAP insurance, etc… all automatically included with every car sale.

Dealers do this to get paid bonuses by those companies for selling their products.

The idea is simple, outside of a dealer fee, you shouldn’t have any line items on your contract outside of the car’s cost matching the agreed price, and mandatory dealer fees. Freight or delivery fee on used cars are bullshit, and product sales are bullshit.

If a dealer insists on you buying their products, then encourage them to lower the cost of the car by the product dollar to save some money.
