The Defender market is very weird. It is a high volume market with stable pricing only on highly loaded safari spec V6 cars or low priced V8 cars. The BCV range is $50K for the V6, and $70K for the V8. The cars often sell at the highest dollar not because of engine size, but rather 2 key things. Painted body lower panels and safari upgrades like ladder, rack, box and snorkel. Any 3 safari item combination seems to yield higher dollar regardless that its from factory or from Urban automotive. 22” wheels also are a selling point on non V8 models. They’re not sensitive to mileage as much as other cars once they get closer to BCV.

On the surface this seems like the right car, it has good options and an interesting color combo. It can look even better with stealth PPF on top. The issue is the usage to purchase ratio. The car has 12K miles so selling it between 25 and 30K miles will create significant downside especially as we still account for extra depreciation beyond the mileage on the year itself. If you intend to drive this many miles, it is best to save money and buy the exact same car in 2021 with 20K miles in the 50s.
