perpetual analysis:
Lamborghini Murcielago LP640
Generally, the LP640 market is on the rise. Over the last few months alone, the market moved up on average 22% over the last recorded sales of 2024. The most collectible years are 08-10, with 09 being your best bet due to the cars having more reliable components, mainly ceramic brake options and Q stitching with more carbon options. The value of car produced is also significantly less in 2009 and 2010 making them highly desirable. On the resale market, pricing can fluctuate heavily based on condition as repairs can range from simple $20,000 headlights to $70,000 engine out repairs so condition both physical and mechanical play a heavy role in the cost basis. No car is ever perfect mechanically at this age unless very detailed yearly service records are available. Pricing on cars today can range from the worst US examples selling in the $290K range to pristine low mileage examples bringing $600,000... with manuals now well over 1.5M in value. The median average price for a 08/09 with 10K miles in the US would be 380K as of today.

LP640s are great cars to buy right now as they are still expected to go up once more, with each stage less and less exciting cars appear. The average mileage also keeps increasing from 10s to 20s as the majority of low mileage cars aren't coming back for sale. This is the right color and spec, but the miles hurt the car today, it may not in a few years if driven very lightly. Consider each year if you intend to drive about 10K in maintenance average based on components getting old. This one seems to have service history but a good PPI is needed to gauge. If there is no paint work or needed repairs that should help lower the cost. The issue will be to be able to get the right price as its being sold by a dealer who knows these cars and has clients willing to usually pay all the money for these cars. So it just doesn't make sense for them to sell it for 375K. You cant really lose but it feels better to pay market value rather than over seeing these miles. Get a good PPI regardless even if it cost 1500 or so.
